It's a facebook meme, but I'm gonna do it on LJ just because. :D

CREATE YOUR BAND NAME & ALBUM COVER:

To Do This

1 - Go to Wikipedia. Hit “random”
or click http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2 - Go to Quotations Page and select "random quotations"
or click http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four or five words of the very last quote on the page is the title of your first album.

3 - Go to Flickr and click on “explore the last seven days”
or click http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days
Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

4 - Use Photoshop or similar to put it all together.

5 - Post it to FB with this text in the "caption" or "comment" and TAG the friends you want to join in.

New Year's Memes!

In 2009, neko_hime_lj resolves to...
Drink four glasses of pisay every day.
Apply for a new disco.
Learn to play the violin.
Cut down to ten dogs a day.
Give up movies.
Get back in contact with some old cats.
Get your own New Year's Resolutions:

I...what? Drink four glasses of pisay? Should I name a mixed drink after pisay? Hmmm...I'm thinking something that involves lots of vodka and looks like lab chemicals. But four glasses of vodka a day is just too much. >_< I already know how to play the violin. I will NOT give up movies or cut down to ten dogs a day, but I will apply for a new disco (i.e. dance class) and get back in contact with some old cats.

And now for the very long New Year's meme:

Your result for What Your Taste in Art Says About You Test...

Balanced, Secure, and Realistic.

15 Impressionist, 7 Islamic, 2 Ukiyo-e, -15 Cubist, -14 Abstract and 3 Renaissance!

Impressionism is a movement in French painting, sometimes called optical realism because of its almost scientific interest in the actual visual experience and effect of light and movement on appearance of objects. Impressionist paintings are balanced, use colored shadows, use pure color, broken brushstrokes, thick paint, and scenes from everyday life or nature.

People that like Impressionist paintings may not alway be what is deemed socially acceptable. They tend to move on their own path without always worrying that it may be offensive to others. They value friendships but because they also value honesty tend to have a few really good friends. They do not, however, like people that are rude and do not appreciate the ideas of others. They are secure enough in themselves that they can listen to the ideas of other people without it affecting their own final decisions. The world for them is not black and white but more in shades of grey and muted colors. They like things to be aestically pleasing, not stark and sharp. There are many ways to view things, and the impresssionist personality views the world from many different aspects. They enjoy life and try to keep a realistic viewpoint of things, but are not very open to new experiences. If they are content in their live they will be more than likely pleased to keep things just the way they are.

Stupidity
Which, of course, I will waste on memes. But first, an update on my life:

1) Pig and I are doing fine now. I did something really terrible to him, and had he been any other person, he'd have dumped me by now. Things will never be the same, I know, but after this, it can only get better. I love him in that deep, encompassing, unconditional way, and I'm so lucky that he loves me the same way, or even more.

2) Summer classes are boring. I thought the psych of sexuality class I'm taking would be much more interesting, but instead of discussing the more relevant and/or controversial topics, my professor skirts around them. She also doesn't know how to handle a class well--we run all over her, but she doesn't really care. Gah. I should've taken the biology sexuality class instead.

3) I am still unemployed. I applied to several jobs, one in a tutoring place near home, and one at the local Sears as a jewelry sales associate, but none of them have gotten back to me. I was disappointed with the Sears one, as I know I did a smashing job on the preliminary interview--the manager gave me a bunch of 4's and a 5 on the evaluation sheet (I snooped, or rather, accidentally saw. Heh). More job hunting then, as I really, really need money, and am running out of time.

4) I'm going to be driving...soon. Okay, that was optimistic. I should be driving, preferably now. But eh, rising gas prices, the hassle, the fact that I don't have my own car yet, and everything...

Ok, I'm making excuses. I don't wanna drive, especially on California freeways where everyone is crazy and going over 70mph.

Okay, now for the meme.

Jackass

I am a frigging jackass. A stupid, tactless, hurtful, careless jackass. An insomniac jackass at that.

How stupid is it that I can't go to sleep without him?

I shall force myself to go to sleep.

Sigh.

I will try to see the next two weeks as a blessing--time to get some personal space and to mull over things. But I'll fail miserably at it.

Ah, and because I can't sleep, I've been taking random IQ tests and answering stupid quizzes. Latest IQ score (from http://www.highiqsociety.org/) 129. Lower than usual (upper 130's), but hey, I am severely distracted right now. Latest quiz result:

What Concert Band Instrument Are You?

Xylophone

You require a true master to get to know you. You are difficult and frustrating to deal with; but, when dealing with the right person, you are an incredible asset to any group.

Long Overdue Update + Relationship Meme

Bally & Yarny
It's been a while since I did a proper update, plus I haven't done my usual survey of the first few weeks of school, so here it is, albeit delayed.

First Weeks of School )

Well, that's that for the recap of the past two weeks. On to the survey then...

THE UNCOMFORTABLE SURVEY, which isn't so uncomfortable, really )

Finally, a brain puzzle from Pig:

This experiment is meant to test how intuitive and insightful you can be, and how well you can read and retain information. All of the answers are here, but you just need to know what to apply from past experience, memory, and what you can deduce about me. It also tells me whether our minds think alike - thus, the title becomes somewhat pertinent to this post.

What is wrong here? Is it wrong at all?

It's All Danna's Fault!!

Okay, so I wasted a couple of hours of my time looking up my different signs in the different astrologies. 'Tis all [info]done_na's fault!! She pointed me to this site, and with me being the curious little kitty I am, had to look up the astrology stuff.

Disclaimer: I don't believe in the fact that astrology rules our lives. It's silly to think that the placement of stars determines what's going to happen. However, it makes for a pretty good psychoanalytic tool. That's why I read my horoscopes everyday--that is, after the day is done, so I can look back, not look forward. Horoscopes are just words strung together--it's us that gives them meaning and connections with our lives. When I read my horoscopes at the end of the day, it helps me reflect back on the day's events and analyze just what happened.

Anyway, here are the horoscopes, cut due to excessive length.

Maya-Aztec )

The Mayans supposedly had a very, very accurate calendar and horoscope system, so out of curiosity, I did a Maya-Aztec for Pig and X-3 too.

Here's X-3's )

And this is Pig's )

The Mayans had that calendar with the world ending on December 23, 2012, which is my friend Hans' birthday. HAHAHAHAHA. Oh yeah, Hans, if you're reading this...are we still on for Wicked? I haven't talked to you since you told me you were going to take me to watch it as a birthday gift. Ahm...my birthday is coming up!

Rainy Days

  • 30th Jan, 2007 at 11:48 PM
disdain bunny-kill it
It was a rainy day today, and though I usually love the rain, I hated it with a passion today. Imagine this: you're sick with colds, it's freezing because you're only wearing a thin denim jacket, and you have no umbrella. To make things worse, you're walking away from where you want to be (i.e. playing piano in a nice, warm music room with King) and walking towards your doom (i.e. a philosophy test you aren't prepared for).

Gloomy. Dark. Depressing. This day has officially ruined rainy days for me...or at least 'til the next time I get a happy rainy day.

See, the last rainy day I had was with Mr. X. We were walking out of the music building when it started to pour. He tried to shield me from the rain with his trench coat--not an easy thing to do, since he was holding my ridiculously large binder--while I fumbled in my bag for my umbrella. When I finally got the pink, flowery, and utterly girly umbrella out, he offered to hold it for me, while still holding my binder and trying to shield me. Isn't he sweet? After some tugging, I managed to convince him to let me hold the girly umbrella over our heads while he walked me to my class.

The picture evokes warm fuzzy feelings, doesn't it? I'm still waiting for another rainy day like the one with Mr. X. Doesn't have to be with him, i just need the warm fuzzy feelings.

Anyway, here's a meme from [info]farewell_mask

10 Things I love starting with the letter D

1) Dangly and sparkly earrings
2) Dancing cheek to cheek
3) Dostoevsky, or as the Russians say it, Достоевский
4) Dante Alighieri
5) Das Rhinegold. Wagner is awesome, even if he was an anti-semitic prick.
6) Debussy. Ah, je t'aime <3
7) Dvorák
8) Dalmatians.
9) Double-layer cheesecake *drools*
10) Del Gesu violins *drools some more*

*BONUS 11) Danna!! Hahaha. Of course I luuuuurve you! \(^_^)/
